Te?Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in Igneous Geochemistry, for a fixed term appointment of up to two years nine months (until January 31, 2025). This is an opportunity for an early career scientist working in igneous geochemistry.
It is expected that the successful applicant will develop new research projects in collaboration with the host employer, contribute to ongoing research on subduction zone processes, in particular microanalytical studies of Kermadec Arc Havre Trough magmatism, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes in igneous processes and geochemistry.

Plus, an ultraclean laboratory and Thermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometer, and various specialised microscopes, including digital mapping.

- A PhD in Geology, Geochemistry or Earth Sciences
- Practical and theoretical knowledge in igneous processes and geochemistry
- Proven or demonstrated experience with microanalytical methods, including laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and electron-probe microanalysis.
- Demonstrated capability, commensurate with experience, of reporting results in peer-reviewed articles in international journals
- Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities
